Efficient conversion of black cumin cake from industrial waste into lipopeptide biosurfactant by Pseudomonas fluorescens

چکیده
Most biosurfactants are obtained using costly culture media, which limits their wider industrial use. In the present study, a low-cost medium, containing agro-industrial residue black cumin cake, was developed for amphisin production by Pseudomonas fluorescens DSS73. By cake as substrate, not only cost reduced but also higher yield achieved. A Box-Behnken experimental design applied to maximize lipopeptide biosurfactant production. The optimal conditions production, such (6.6%) and NaCl (8.0 mM) concentration, cultivation time (6.5 days), were determined. Yield of performed in conditions, reached 16.51 ± 0.49 g/L. Such high has been evidenced previously biosurfactants. Moreover, active utilization observed with aid scanning electron microscopy (SEM), documented numerous holes pitting on surface, confirmed. Finally, antifungal activity against Aspergillus carbonarius demonstrated. Hence, P. achieved statistical optimization an inexpensive by-product first time.

Lipopeptide biosurfactant viscosin enhances dispersal of Pseudomonas fluorescens SBW25 biofilms
Pseudomonads produce several lipopeptide biosurfactants that have antimicrobial properties but that also facilitate surface motility and influence biofilm formation. Detailed studies addressing the significance of lipopeptides for biofilm formation and architecture are rare. Hence, the present study sets out to determine the specific role of the lipopeptide viscosin in Pseudomonas fluorescens S...

متن کاملEvaluation of different carbon sources for growth and biosurfactant production by Pseudomonas fluorescens isolated from wastewaters.
The indigenous strain Pseudomonas fluorescens, isolated from industrial wastewater, was able to produce glycolipid biosurfactants from a variety of carbon sources, including hydrophilic compounds, hydrocarbons, mineral oils, and vegetable oils. Hexadecane, mineral oils, vegetable oils, and glycerol were preferred carbon sources for growth and biosurfactant production by the strain. Biosurfactan...
متن کاملRegulation of cyclic lipopeptide biosynthesis in Pseudomonas fluorescens by the ClpP protease.
Cyclic lipopeptides produced by Pseudomonas species exhibit potent surfactant and broad-spectrum antibiotic properties. Their biosynthesis is governed by large multimodular nonribosomal peptide synthetases, but little is known about the genetic regulatory network. This study provides, for the first time, evidence that the serine protease ClpP regulates the biosynthesis of massetolides, cyclic l...
